After studying at the University of Liverpool, Laura went on to work in the NHS to do Project Management. During her NHS career, she has worked within three local organisations- Shropshire Doctors, Shropshire Telford & Wrekin CCG and the Training Hub which has allowed her to gain a lot of experience in the local health economy and work with a host of primary care stakeholders.
Laura has been involved in the delivery of several, innovative primary care initiatives across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin that have helped to support wide-scale change and transformation. As the Primary Care Training Hub Project Manager, Laura helps to commission projects that support the sustainability of the primary care workforce, with a focus on up-skilling, recruitment and retention. What Laura enjoys most about the role is being able to support in the delivery of excellent healthcare for patients, by ensuring the primary care workforce has all the necessary skills: "It is great getting to work with people from a whole host of organisations to understand what the local training and development needs are, and then going on to provide opportunities that help to meet these."
Laura loves to travel to new places and has an interest in health and wellness. Outside of work, you’ll find Laura in her garden or enjoying long country walks with her partner and their golden retriever, Winston.
